The Outreach and Education function engages, empowers and educates the Second District communities that the Bank serves, especially civic leaders, students, educators, small business owners, policymakers and the general public. The text of an official notice issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System seeking nominations of qualified individuals for eight appointments to its Consumer Advisory Council as printed in the Federal Register of July 8. Those individuals selected will serve three-year terms beginning in January 1997. Nominations should be sent directly to the Board of Governors; the notice also contains the names, affiliations, and terms of office of the Council's current membership.
