| Proposal for a New Basel Capital
Accord |
| In June 2004, the new capital adequacy framework known as Basel II was endorsed by central bank governors and the heads of bank supervisory authorities in the Group of Ten countries. The framework outlines risk-sensitive minimum capital requirements for banking organizations and the review of such assessments by supervisors. It also aims to improve transparency in banks’ financial reporting. |
