Why the Fed? |
| Having already worked in the private sector for several years, I wanted an opportunity to explore a career which would be more closely aligned with public service. The Federal Reserve Bank was an excellent place to start such a transition because it is at the intersection of the public and private sector. The Fed’s size and organizational diversity gives its employees a unique opportunity to work with an institution that not only impacts every industry and state but also is so central to the country's economic stability. |
My Responsibilities |
| My summer project is a study of exam findings of Foreign Bank Organizations in the United States over the past three years. The analysis provides a thorough understanding of the most significant issues concerning Foreign Banking Organizations. The report also identifies some of the key micro and macro level indicators that have impacted the examination findings. |
Challenges and Rewards of My Job |
| The Summer Analyst Program is structured to give all the incoming analysts a broad and yet comprehensive understanding of what the Federal Reserve Bank does in its entirety. Not only do the analysts learn about their individual departments, but they are also able to get an idea about the other divisions of the Bank. |
| How Is the Fed Unique? |
| The work culture in the Federal Reserve Bank espouses creativity, dedication and commitment towards national as well as global financial stability. Most people who have joined the Federal Reserve Bank are ambitious and most importantly maintain a high level of ethics. It is this aspect that makes the Federal Reserve Bank one of the most gratifying places to work. |
