Community Involvement

We are proud to be an active partner in the community through the volunteer efforts of our employees. Our employees participate in a wide range of volunteer activities with community groups in the tri-state region. Volunteer programs at the Bank include:

High School Mentoring Program
The Fed's mentoring program pairs a caring adult and a high school student in need of guidance. Employees volunteer their time, for a combination of in-house events/presentations and community outings.
Everybody Wins! Power Lunch Reading Program
Sponsored by the Everybody Wins! Foundation, this program facilitates one-on-one reading relationships between volunteers and elementary school students. Volunteers read to a student once a week during their lunch hour. The Bank has a reading relationship with PS 130 in Chinatown.
The Fed Challenge
Bank employees volunteer to judge local high school student presentations on their analysis, forecasting, recommendations and the Federal Reserve's role in developing and implementing monetary policy.
Fundraisers and Drives
Employees organize teams for fundraising events such as the AIDS, Women's Cancers and Diabetes Walks, as well as toy, clothing and blood drives.
