The Federal Reserve in the 21st Century

Wednesday and Thursday, March 16 and 17, 2011

The Fed in the 21st Century gives college professors a chance to hear presentations from economists and senior staff of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and ask them questions.

The first day focuses on Fed basics, including the evolving responsibilities of the Federal Reserve System, new developments in monetary policy tools, issues in supervision of large financial institutions, the Fed’s role in ensuring financial stability and recent developments in the global economy. The second day is devoted to hot topics, including U.S. housing policy, the performance of labor markets during the recession, discussions of Dodd-Frank and Basel III, and a roundtable on current policy issues facing the Fed.

This event is limited to active college professors who teach economics, finance or business at two- or four-year colleges and universities.
