John Kimmins

John Kimmins is a Senior Director in the Security and Fraud Solutions organization at Bellcore. His group is responsible for requirements, standards, incident response, security analysis of services, new technologies and products, and review of telecommunications networks. John is one of the Bellcore members to the National Security Telecommunications Advisory committee (NSTAC) National Security Information Exchange (NSIE) Task Force. John is also a technical reviewer and contributor on security analyses of emerging technologies such as ATM, SONET and PCS.

Previously, John was the Lead Engineer on a network security project that provided architectual and technology direction and requirements for securing various types of network configurations, technologies and services in the Regional Bell Operating Companies. He is also the technical manager for various government contracts addressing network security for telecommunications networks and services. John has been with Bellcore since its creation in 1984 and with AT&T Bell Laboratories prior to divestiture. He was with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in the telecommunications area. He has over 15 years experience in computer and network security in addition to security standards. John has a BS degree in Operations Research from Manhattan College and a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from New York University.
