Regional Economic Press Briefing on Recession, Federal Stimulus and New York/New Jersey Schools

Overview
The New York Fed will host a press briefing on “Recession, Federal Stimulus and New York/New Jersey Schools” on Friday, January 27. The presentation will highlight recent patterns and challenges in school financing and examine how state governments will cope with pending decreases in federal funding support. The event is part of the New York Fed’s Regional Economic Press Briefing series.

The event will also include an update on local economic conditions and trends from New York Fed economists.

A staff panel will answer questions from the media on the economy and local school financing following the presentations.

President William C. Dudley is expected to offer remarks on the regional economy and participate in the Q&A session.

Audience
Limited to members of the media who cover the Federal Reserve’s Second District (New York) and other reporters by invitation.

Media must register by 5 p.m. on Thursday, January 26 and bring valid photo identification for entry. (Closed to the public).
