New York Fed to Post Agenda and Formal Remarks from Annual Meeting with Primary Dealers
October 24, 2011
Documents will be available on Bank's website at conclusion of meeting

NEW YORK—The Federal Reserve Bank of New York, in its ongoing efforts to increase transparency, will be releasing the agenda and formal remarks from today’s annual meeting with its primary dealers. The remarks will be delivered by Brian P. Sack, New York Fed executive vice president and manager of the System Open Market Account.

Primary dealers serve as trading counterparties of the New York Fed in its implementation of monetary policy. The Bank periodically meets with its primary dealers to discuss operational matters related to monetary policy execution, industry developments, and matters relating to the operating policy governing the Administration of Relationships with Primary Dealers.

In the last decade, there were occasional meetings bringing together all the primary dealers—an annual meeting of this nature has become a regular event since 2009 and usually happens around this time in the fourth quarter.

The meeting takes place at 4:00 p.m. EDT at the Bank. While the meeting is for participants only, the agenda and remarks will be posted on the primary dealers section of the Bank’s website at the conclusion of the session, likely around 6:00 p.m. EDT. This posting procedure will be followed each year, going forward.
