Richard Deitz is an officer and economist for the Buffalo Branch. He conducts research and economic analysis on emerging regional issues in upstate New York and leads the development of the Empire State Manufacturing Survey. Mr. Deitz's research focuses on household and firm location and regional labor market dynamics.

Before joining the Bank in 1998, Mr. Deitz was a visiting professor of economics at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Saint Lawrence University. Mr. Deitz earned a Ph.D. in economics from Binghamton University and a bachelor’s in economics from the State University of New York.
