Kinda Hachem joined the New York Fed in August 2023. She conducts theoretical and empirical research in macroeconomics, monetary economics, financial intermediation, financial crises, and shadow banking. Her work has been published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of Political Economy, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of Economic Theory, and the Review of Economics and Statistics. She was appointed an associate editor at the Journal of Monetary Economics and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Economic Literature. She is currently on leave from the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics, an M.A. in Economics, and an Honours B.Sc. in Economics (Quantitative Methods) from the University of Toronto.
