Jeremy Pearce is a research economist in Labor and Product Market Studies within the Monetary Policy Research Division. His research is in macroeconomics, where he combines micro-data and theoretical models to understand firm dynamics, productivity, innovation, and economic growth. He has a particular interest in intangible assets, such as patents and trademarks, and how they interact with competition and public policy. He joined the New York Fed in 2023. Prior to joining the Fed, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and his B.A. summa cum laude from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
