Jacob Weber is a research economist in Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies within the Monetary Policy Research Division. His current research focuses on understanding the role that investment plays in the transmission of monetary policy to the broader economy, and how that role has changed over time. More generally, his work investigates questions related to various aspects of central bank policy, such as the optimal formulation of forward guidance and the effectiveness of sterilized foreign exchange intervention. He received a Ph.D. in Economics from University of California at Berkeley in 2023 and a B.A. in Mathematics-Economics and Classical Archaeology from Brown University in 2015.
