Gianluca Benigno is a Senior Economist in the International Research Department. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of New York he worked at the Bank of England and taught at the London School of Economics. He graduated with a PhD in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 2000, with a specialization in open economy macroeconomics. His current research focuses on international monetary policy cooperation,interaction of monetary and fiscal policy and implications of capital account liberalization.
