Carlos Carvalho joined the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in August 2007 as an Economist in the Macroeconomic and Monetary Studies Function of the Research and Statistics Group. His research interests are in monetary policy, open economy macroeconomics and international finance. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Carvalho has worked as an economist and fund-manager for several years. He holds an MA from Princeton University, and a BA and an MA from Pontificia Universidade Catolica do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mr. Carvalho holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University.
