Maintaining high editorial and design standards for the Bank's research publications; making research publications accessible to a broad audience; using Internet and print resources to showcase the scholarly activity of the economists and to highlight the value of the Bank's chief research series as teaching tools.
As head of the Publications Function, Valerie LaPorte oversees the editing and production of the Bank's principal research publications: the Economic Policy Review, Current Issues in Economics and Finance, and Staff Reports. She sets priorities for the editors and graphic artists and works with the staff to provide editorial and design services to other areas of the Bank. Additional areas of responsibility for Ms. LaPorte and her staff include management of the Research Publications website, oversight of the article review process, preparation of recruiting materials for the Research Group, and the marketing of the Group's publications.
