Paolo Pesenti is a Vice President specializing in international economics. He is affiliated with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). He has also been a scientific consultant at the European Central Bank and a resident scholar at the International Monetary Fund, where he has been involved with the design and development of GEM, a simulation model of the global economy. Mr. Pesenti previously taught at Princeton and has served as visiting professor at several research institutions worldwide. He is the co-author of an award-winning book on the crisis of the European Monetary System. For his research on international portfolio diversification, Mr. Pesenti has received the Hicks-Tinbergen medal of the European Economic Association. He is currently an associate editor of the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking and the Journal of International Economics.
